Those of us who were serving in the Army at the time of the Kargil war, were hopeful that an event such as that war would wake us up from the deep slumber we seemed to be in. What a mistaken belief that was. My question is, why appoint a Committee such as the Kargil war Review Committee, if we have no intentions of following their recommendations? Things are as they were, which is very unfortunate.
Martyr is used for one who dies in defence of religion. The Pak army uses the term. Killed in action or battle casualty is what the IA prefers and uses.
