Call it luck or genius, Mahesh Bhatt’s choosing Jagjit to compose for Arth was one of the greatest and highly significant decisions in Bollywood music history. How well Jagjit understood and interpreted the situations and how complimentary Kaifi Azmi’s lyrics! I shudder to think of what an SJ, LP, or any other highly successful composer would have done with the musical score. Jagjit was steeped in the essence of ghazals and, Kaifi Azmi and he were in complete sync.. But for the tragic drama and heartbreaking situations in the life of its principal characters , Arth could have been a ‘Musical’. Thank you for this.

This movie was a great combination of two legends…..Mahesh Bhatt and Jagjit Singh. It will be remembered forever.
