We now live in a world order that will keep shifting. India must use this window. This also means we remain disciplined enough not to be knee-jerked into reacting to what Pakistan sees as its moment in the sun.
It’s quite simple. If you don’t wanna have sex, don’t marry. Marriage, quite obviously, carries the expectation of sexual relations – both the partners are supposed to satisfy each other’s sexual desires.
Such stories of consent should be explored in Indian Islamic families more actually. You know .. start with consent to marry the 1st woman, consent to have sex with 1st wife, consent to marry a 2nd and 3rd woman, and a collective consent from those 3 wives to marry and do it with a 4th woman.
And, then, move onto exploring consent in the context of Halala. Imagine a scenario where every wife goes through that process…consensually of course.
