India, the world’s most populous country, is a major economic and political power in South Asia. Known for its vast linguistic, cultural, and geographic diversity, India has a rich history that spans thousands of years, with deep-rooted traditions in philosophy, science, art, and religion. Its large population and vast history mark its economic and cultural importance.
While India’s civilization can be traced to the Harrapan era, that is, 1400 BCE, its modern political boundaries were established in 1947 when it gained independence from British rule. It is now a federal parliamentary democracy with 28 states and 8 union territories, with New Delhi as its capital. India has a democratic system with a multiparty political landscape, with the Indian National Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party being the two dominant national parties.
As one of the fastest-growing major economies, India is a global hub for technology, manufacturing, and services, while also being an agrarian powerhouse. It is a nuclear-armed state and plays a key role in regional and global geopolitics, maintaining strategic partnerships with various nations.
India is one of the most ethnically and religiously diverse countries in the world, home to multiple religions, sects, castes, and tribes. It has more than ten-thousand languages and hundreds of regional dialects, with Hindi and English serving as the two of the 22 official languages. Despite economic progress, India faces challenges such as poverty, unemployment, and environmental concerns, alongside managing its complex social fabric and regional disparities.
they should realised what they are writing in newspaper. be sensible.
The author seems to be ignorant. Print should think twice before printing such nonsense from a shady writter.
The relationship between India and France goes back a long time before Modi. Historically, the French acted aggressively to provide asylum to Indian freedom fighters fleeing the British in their enclaves of Pondicherry, Mahe, Karaikal, Chandranagore and Yanam. Several of the greatest Indians of their time including Subramaniya Bharati and Aurobindo Ghosh escaped a British noose because of the French. Earlier, the French had tried to fight Clive when he worked to conquer India for England. There is a reason why India sent it’s military to throw the Portuguese out of Goa, but it never really asked France to leave – until the French left themselves in 1972. While it took time for France to rebuild and regain it’s position as a major industrial nation after the devastation that it suffered in two World Wars, it quickly became a technological power. The land of Lavoisier, Vieille, Cugnot, Pasteur, the Curies and a myriad other scientific minds now has the world’s most advanced and safe nuclear power industry. It has the only competitor in safety and speed to the Japanese and Chinese Bullet trains. France and Britain jointly developed the world’s only successful supersonic airliner. And, there’s a lot more. It makes complete sense for India to re-engage with a historical partner.
There is no doubt that France has always supported India in many years from nuclear energy, space research, defence equipment and at UN. However, our ties with USSR and subsequently with Russia are on a different but even stronger footing. Both are our friends and we need both of them. So the question of one replacing the other is non sense. Both are opposed to USA and UK and this is useful to us many times. While details in the article are factual, the heading and conclusions are mischievous today the least.
Aparna Pande (the writer of this article), you clearly need to be ARRESTED for causing trouble between our country and our (True Iron- All Weather Friend) Russia!!! You cannot be so STUPID to title your article the way you did! Are you suffering from a problem Aparna Pande??!!. Because you are being totally stupid and (trying to fuel) nation-to-nation problems. Let me remind everyone that, The Government of India has long time – Iron Brother ties with our True Friend and Long time Allie – Russia. So stop inciting non sense as per your article Aparna Pande, since people like you do not have a life. Or rather one to cause bulls##t for our country.
True.
Russia is our dearest friend. Even an anti national, like me, a Pakistani living in India will agree.
Russia values it partnership with China more than the one it has with India. They have also started playing India for leverage; which is not good.
Aparna Pande is correct to observe that there is a synergy in the world view of France and India, and their positions has been consistent about policy matters.
India Has To Develop Comprehensive National Power Much As The Chinese Have Done!! Meanwhile, France Can Certainly Be A Good Partner In Defense & Collaboration In Trade Especially With Europe & French Africa!
The article is titled totally wrong by this Aparna Pande who should be arrested for invoking and disrupting relations between our country and our Ture Iron Friend Russia of course.
Those times are gone! Russia is not trustworthy anymore! Had they helped us when we had the CPEC issue, we would have made it together.
