The center has to lessen the distance between Kashmir and the rest of the country. At no point in this country’s history has greater integration caused dilution of culture. I have been to Tamil-Bengali weddings with a Sangeet ceremony (ostensibly a Punjabi thing). Every state maintains its characteristics the way we have the union set up.
Kashmir needs to become like just another region of India, the specialness of these “brokers of peace” need to be removed. These people have been a menace to J&K — the tail cannot wag the dog!
It lies within the power of the honourable apex court to rule on the constitutional validity of the changes of 5th August 2019, offer a graceful way out of this cul de sac.
