While it is good to adhere to austerity measures wherever we can however if someone can afford then why not to have lavish celebrations. This is better way to support your economy because lot of people from different streams will get employment. There are few important points which may be kept in mind like the celebrations, to the extent possible, should be within country and they should not leave any negative impact on environment, no food wastage etc.
Film personalities celebrating lavish weddings is their compulsion. It gives them more publicity, when millions and millions watch them for several days. These events bring millions of rupees in the economy, provide jobs to several hundred persons. However I fully agree with Sahiba’s views in totality.
Many people believe that austerity is against GDP growth. If money is spent more jobs are created more production is consumed more factories need produce more. That helps GDP grow. Many others believe that austerity is a must. Invest money wisely. The final thing is as long one can afford luxury is acceptable. but copying such shows and getting into financial crunches is foolish. Many actors and other artists have spent their money when they were earning lavishly but fell into penury when they needed it most. Mike Jakson is a burning example. So lavishness too needs prudence. May their married life be long and happy. But GOD forbid if it fails?
Appreciate the recommendation. Will try it out.

It gives the economy a much needed boost, so it gets my vote. Better if rupees are spent in India, rather than Euros in Italy.
