Excuse me? Did you just mention Poor State Odisha? Are you out of your mind or have kept your mind at home while writing this article? For God’s sake, Odisha is not poor. It was a golden state and will always be a golden state. Can’t you see how our state has braved all odds, rose like a Phoenix in every battle threw at it’s face? You useless media houses forgot to give Odisha the attention it deserves and now you call it a poor state! Shame on you. Who gave you the right to call our state poor? You read some bloody articles on Google and declare Odisha as poor? Is that your so called ethical journalism? More percentage of tribals doesn’t mean poor. Being old school isn’t poor. Eating Pakhala is not poor. Living life King Size is not poor. Making a COVID-19 hospital in two weeks isn’t poor. Giving requisite ration to the people isn’t poor. Giving money to the ones who register for Quarantine isn’t poor. Lastly, Lord Jagannath isn’t poor.
For a poor state? I am sorry, what?
Extending lockdown is like lighting fire to a house to drive away a rat. Not a rational decision. I have the deepest respect for Mr. Patnaik and as an Odia I deeply appreciate what he has done over the years. But this time, he is over-reacting. May be age is catching up with him.
Odisha does not test enough for Covid. Many cases are undetected. So there is a false sense of security. All want to hide from reality. So our CM is great
CM Naveen Patnaik also has a fantastic record of saving lives when a major cyclone hits Orissa. A quiet, understated, magnificent administrator. 2. On extending the complete lockdown, two views are possible. Saw a video clip of CM of Punjab advising farmers and other workers how they should cooperate to ensure that the procurement of wheat between 15 April and 31 May proceeds smoothly and safely. Some risks / trade offs are inevitable. My fear is that the lockdown will crush the poor. Not America, where almost 17 million people who have lost their jobs in the last three weeks have filed unemployment claims.
