TMC MPs are publicly fighting and insulting each other. Holding press conferences and taking potshots at their own party members. Yet the journalist tried to paint the TMC in a very positive light. Seems like a rather lame attempt at spinning a narrative.
The Print has been conspicuous in it’s obstinate refusal to criticise the Mamata Banerjee administration. Every week throws up some scam or the other in Bengal. Most people believe that the TMC is currently the most corrupt political party in the nation. Yet The Print simply refuses to report on such cases. It, quite deliberately, underplayed the Supreme Court verdict which upheld the Calcutta High Court order in the WBSSC teacher’s appointment scam.
It’s quite clear that there are “journalists” like Ms. Sagarika Ghose at The Print, eagerly waiting for a Rajya Sabha ticket from the TMC.
The only effective intervention from the Opposition benches was made by Dr. Shashi Tharoor. His speech was the only one which stood out.
The Congress would do well to appoint him as the Leader of the Opposition.
