First the CDS and IAF Chief should honour and recognise 1971 war hero Flying Officer K.P.Muralidharan MIA whom IAF was convinced of his war heroism in the Air battle of Peshawar skies .and was bileatedly and repeatedly recommended Maha Vir Chakra posthumously from 2010 onwards. The enemy pilot Wing Comdr Salim Mirza Baig who shot him in the aerial dogfight over the Peshawar air base for long time., and the Pakistani press had eloquently praised this air warrior.He also made three run over the air base and destroyed many vital military installations.He also saved his flight commander Sqn Ldr K.NBajpaye’s life. But our govt nor IAF didn’t push for the award.This senior officers are not interested and have vested interest like free rations in peace station which was restored even Gen Vipin Rawat had cancelled it. They demanded and got many senior post opening from Brigadier and above an all service.Now officer can become Col with 15 yrs service and any officer can become Col and above in time scale.Now they are planning to increase their retirement age. Those who sacrifice their life and faught bravery are not honoured and recognised.They have many excuses to not to give the award.In India we recognise celebrity cricketers , film personalities sports man and politicans etc are given awards and recognised ,but poor brave and courageous soldiers are neglected.It is shame on the part of IAF Chief and the CDS of ignoring this true war hero who can motivate our soldiers morale.
