MUNICH, Germany (Reuters) -Reaction after Denmark drew 0-0 with Serbia in their Euro 2024 Group C match on Tuesday.

Denmark coach Kasper Hjulmand: “We knew it could be like this, and it’s a bit of a shame we didn’t score on one of our chances so we had a buffer. We must remember to celebrate like crazy, we are super happy to go through, and then we have some unresolved things offensively that we need to do better. It means something to the Danes, that’s why we do it. This team belongs to all of us.”

Denmark goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel: “I actually think we parried really well and kept them from big chances, the boys fought really well … it’s going to be great against Germany, if we don’t believe in our chances, we might as well go home.”

Denmark’s Christian Eriksen: “I am proud and I am relieved. I think we were pressured at the end. I am proud that we have gone through.

“I think we fought to the very last. They had to go forward to score while we already had a result at 0-0 and for that reason we were a bit passive at the end. It’s surreal to stand here with 133 caps, it’s completely insane. I never dreamed of that.”

Denmark’s Morten Hjulmand: “I’m happy. We have progressed at the Euros, we have come second. Of course we would have liked more points but the goal was to advance from the group.

“It was a very tactical affair. In the second half, maybe we dropped a bit low because we knew that, with that result, we would go through, while Serbia had to come forward and attack. We have gone through and I am hugely happy.”

Serbia’s Aleksandar Mitrovic: “We did our best. We have not created enough chances to score the goal and that cost us. It is a bitter feeling. It is the worst when you are so near and you can do it and at the end you fail. This is a similar feeling we had in Qatar. We are emotionally drained.”

Serbia goalkeeper Predrag Rajkovic to RTS TV:

“Definitely there is regret. I feel sorry for the fans who came to support us here and who watched the game on their TVs.”

Serbia’s Dusan Tadic: “It is a huge disappointment. Realistically, it is a failure.”
