MCA to host Uganda for four one-dayers, T20s

Mumbai, May 16 (PTI) The Mumbai Cricket Association will host Uganda cricket team for four one-dayers and as many T20s to be played between May 18 and 30 across various venues here.

The MCA informed on Saturday that the four one-dayers will be played against the MCA Colts team, whereas the four T20s will be played against T20 Mumbai League teams.

The fourth edition of the men’s T20 Mumbai League will be played here from June 1-13.

The first two one-dayers will be at the Palghar Dahanu Taluka Sports Association ground on May 18 and 20, whereas the third and the fourth matches of this series will be at the Adani Stadium in Palghar on May 22 and 24.

While the first match will be played on May 26 at Thane’s Dadoji Kondadev Stadium, the other three will be at the Adani Stadium on May 27, 29 and 30 respectively.

The MCA and Cricket Uganda have recently entered a five-year Memorandum Of Understanding which aims at strengthening the development of cricket in the African nation.

“The MOU establishes a framework for cooperation between Cricket Uganda and one of India’s most established cricket ecosystems, focusing on expanding international playing opportunities, strengthening high-performance structures, developing sustainable player pathways, enhancing technical and coaching expertise and promoting women’s cricket,” CU informed on their website.

The Uganda squad features wicketkeeper-batter Fred Achelam who will be leading the touring party. The squad features former U-19 captain Fahad Mutagana and Enock Kasaija as well as comeback players Ronald Lutaaya and off-spinner Siraje Nsubuga.
