New Delhi: This Men’s T20 World Cup is the underdogs’ gift that keeps on giving. A tournament that kicked off with Namibia thrashing Sri Lanka and Scotland demolishing the West Indies has now brought us a triple header for the ages. The Netherlands’ middle order all finally came to the party and dealt a killing blow to South Africa’s semifinal hopes and given themselves a fighting chance to qualify directly for the next Men’s T20 World Cup in 2024 and avoid playing regional qualifiers. As a result, the Dutch turned the second match of the day – Pakistan vs Bangladesh – into a quarter final knockout, which Babar Azam’s side won with ease. Cue the 1992 ODI World Cup parallels for Pakistani fans.

So where do India stand now? What could well have been a banana skin encounter against Zimbabwe at the MCG, with a defeat eliminating India, is now more of an academic exercise. India simply need to win to top the group and set up a semifinal with England. If they lose, they’ll finish second and will play New Zealand, but this not a simply a matter of pride for Zimbabwe. They would rather avoid regional qualifiers as well, and a victory would see them leapfrog the Dutch into fourth place. So it remains all to play for, not just for this group’s positions but also for 2024 edition of this tournament.

India captain Rohit Sharma has won the toss and opted to bat first. India have made one change from the narrow win over Bangladesh – Rishabh Pant comes in for Dinesh Karthik.Meanwhile, Zimbabwe captain Craig Ervine has announced two lineup changes from their defeat to the Netherlands.

Left-arm spinner Wellington Masakadza and middle order batsman Tony Munyonga come in for pace allrounder Luke Jongwe and middle order batsman Milton Shumba respectively.

India Squad
Rohit Sharma (c), KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant (wk), Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, R Ashwin, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammad Shami, Arshdeep Singh

Zimbabwe Squad
Craig Ervine (c), Wessly Madhevere, Regis Chakabva (wk), Sean Williams, Sikandar Raza, Tony Munyonga, Ryan Burl, Wellington Masakadza, Tendai Chatara, Richard Ngarava, Blessing Muzarabani

4.56PM India storm into semis, setting up clash with England at Adelaide
This encounter at the MCG was ultimately one-way traffic for the Men in Blue, although the Chevrons had some creditable moments with bat, ball and in the field. Suryakumar Yadav and Ryan Burl were by far the best performers of the night, for a brilliant half-century and a superlative all-round display respectively. As a result, India and Pakistan qualify from their Super 12 group in that order, with India playing the other Super 12 group’s runners-up England at Adelaide on Thursday, while Pakistan take on New Zealand at the SCG on Wednesday. But this win will also be celebrated by the Netherlands, as the order of results secures their automatic qualification for the 2024 Men’s T20 World Cup to be held in the USA and the West Indies. For Zimbabwe, it’s back to regional qualifying where they will compete with Namibia, Uganda, Kenya and others for the two spots allocated to African nations in the next edition of this tournament. In the meantime, do join us for our next ThePrint LIVE blog, as we bring you over-by-over coverage of the semifinals and final.

4.49PM Over 17.2 Zimbabwe 115 all out (Muzarabani 0*) OUT! India top Super 12 Group 2 table with 71-run win
Axar returns for his final over and brings out some consolation hitting from Chatara, who smashes him down the ground for a boundary. But the very next ball, the tailender simply chips it back to Axar, as India complete a resounding win by 71 runs!

4.48PM Over 17 Zimbabwe 111-9 (Muzarabani 0*, Chatara 0*) OUT! India are one wicket away as Hardik removes Raza with short ball
India’s pace attack returns in the form of allrounder Hardik, but he repeatedly sprays the ball down leg side, allowing Raza and Chatara to rotate the strike without much fuss. But Hardik finally gets his lines right, delivering a well directed slower short ball which is Raza’s prime weakness. Raza tries to pull it for six but can’t clear the long square boundaries at the ‘G and it’s straight down Suryakumar Yadav’s throat at deep square leg. Zimbabwe now need a near-unassailable 76 off the last 3 overs.

4.42PM Over 16 Zimbabwe 106-8 (Raza 31*, Chatara 0*) OUT! Ashwin takes three as Zimbabwe are 8 down
So unlucky for Ngarava! This was a beautifully pitched off-break on a length from Ashwin but the outcome was the T20 equivalent of a grubber that just didn’t bounce. Instead, the pitch appears to have turned two paced as the ball kept low, skidding on to the off stump. There’s no way a tailender could be expected to have read or played that.

4.36PM Over 15.1 Zimbabwe 104-7 (Raza 30*) OUT! Ashwin has his second as India close in
Being a specialist left arm spinner, Wellington Masakadza never quite looked comfortable against Ashwin and Axar at the crease. Sure enough, his stay ultimately lasts just seven balls as he spoons up a leading edge to captain Rohit Sharma at short extra cover. Raza is still at the crease but India look confident about wrapping up the remaining three wickets quickly.

4.36PM Over 15 Zimbabwe 104-6 (Raza 30*, Masakadza 1*)
Axar is on for his third, with only the major wicket of Sikandar Raza needed before India can completely wrap this up. Axar creates a chance by firing in a flat delivery that angled in and kept low under Raza’s wildly swinging bat while Pant dislodges the bails appealing for a stumping. But Raza had planted his back foot just about behind the line and responds by picking up the next ball over deep square leg, eluding the diving fielder for four.

4.30PM Over 14 Zimbabwe 96-6 (Raza 22*, Masakadza 0*) OUT! Raza-Burl partnership ends as Ashwin finally gets his man
The Ryan Burl masterclass against spin was tons of fun while it lasted but R Ashwin has the last laugh, flighting it a few times before delivering a fuller, faster delivery on leg stump. Burl is continuing to look for boundaries but can only inside edge this one onto his pads, which then dislodges his own stumps! Credit to Burl who never stopped attacking and gave Zimbabwe a fighting chance, but India are into the tail now.

Zimbabwe are five down, but Sikandar Raza and Ryan Burl are putting on a show | Twitter /@ICC

4.27PM Over 13 Zimbabwe 94-5 (Raza 22*, Burl 35*)
Axar’s second over appears significantly improved as he offers little width or comfortable angles to work with, but the positive intent shown means that Raza and Burl continue to milk singles and the odd double. And Axar errs in his last two deliveries, with the first one too far down leg side that Burl sweeps to fine leg for a boundary, and the second offering just a bid of width and bounce which Burl brilliantly reverse sweeps over the short third fielders for another boundary!

4.23PM Over 12 Zimbabwe 81-5 (Raza 18*, Burl 26*)
In a bid to slow down the scoring, Ashwin is flighting it less and trying to bowl quicker, almost medium pace. But as commentator Sunil Gavaskar, it sits up comfortably as cannon fodder for the left-hander Burl as he slaps Ashwin’s flat third delivery to deep extra cover for four! The remainder of Ashwin’s over, however, is far more controlled, and concedes only 6 runs overall.

4.19PM Over 11 Zimbabwe 75-5 (Raza 18*, Burl 20*) – Burl, Raza put spinners to the sword with aggressive approach
There’s now spin from both ends as Axar has the ball, and could have instantly had a wicket as Sikandar’s top edged cut is not far away from a diving Bhuvneshwar at short third man but runs away for four. Overall Raza is taking to Axar well enough, milking doubles with some assistance from lackadaisical Indian fielding. On his first ball against Axar, Burl brings out the reverse sweep again and once again executes it perfectly as it sails beyond backward point for six! A much much needed 16-run over for Zimbabwe

4.13PM Over 10 Zimbabwe 59-5 (Raza 9*, Burl 14*) – Burl, Raza counterattack against Ashwin in pursuit of steep target
India’s first over of spin commences with R Ashwin, as Raza and Burl look to adjust to his deliveries before teeing off. Sure enough, two singles later, Burl brings out his reverse sweep with exquisite wristwork and perfectly times the ball along the ground to backward point for four. Raza joins Burl’s scoring on the penultimate ball, with a beautiful back foot slap for a boundary over cover! With Raza retaining the strike, the Chevrons need 128 runs off 60 balls after the drinks break for the unlikeliest of victories.

4.09PM Over 9 Zimbabwe 47-5 (Raza 3*, Burl 8*)
Hardik continues his spell with Zimbabwe’s last pair of allrounders, Sikandar Raza and Ryan Burl, at the crease. To their credit, the duo are taking the same approach as Lorcan Tucker, who continued counter-attacking against the Australian bowlers even after they had reduced his Ireland side to 25-5. And this approach is reaping early rewards, as Burl receives a juicy slot ball from Hardik and slogs him over long off for four! A relatively productive over for Zimbabwe, as they look to go hard for the rest of the innings, no matter what.

4.02PM Over 7.3 Zimbabwe 36-5 (Raza 1*) – OUT! Wickets continue to tumble as Shami has his second
Shami returns and instantly rushes the inexperienced Munyonga into a top-edged pull shot that evades Pant for four. Shami continues his tight lines and lengths before delivering it full that traps Munyonga on the pads and is given out. It looks plumb but Raza convinces Munyonga to go for the review, and it’s a poor one, as the full ball that seems to quicken on the seam would have gone on to crash into leg stump. Zimbabwe have now lost half their side and India are on a roll.

3.58PM Over 7 Zimbabwe 32-4 (Raza 1*, Munyonga 1*) – OUT! Hardik oversteps before removing captain Ervine as India dominate
Rohit gives the ball to Hardik to continue the flurry of wickets and the allrounder delivers, albeit after overstepping on the third ball. Hardik finds the perfect back of length to hit the deck and force Ervine to simply chip it back past him, but he had to leap backwards to take it in the air one-handed. India have one foot in that semifinal matchup against England now, as Zimbabwe will once again have to rely on “Raza or bust”.

3.51PM Over 6 Zimbabwe 28-3 (Ervine 12*) – OUT! Shami gets in on the act with wicket of Williams
Shami to round out the powerplay with his first, and offers a hittable full and wide delivery early on but Williams can’t beat the fielder at short cover. For the most part, Shami is on the money, as he has been all tournament by hitting the deck hard and hurrying the batsmen with pace and bounce. Shami hurries Williams similarly, but the delivery works against the bowler as Williams times his hook perfectly, out of the fine leg fielder Ashwin’s reach for six! There’s a slight delay due to a ball change, as the white ball was damaged by the six upon hitting the advertising board. With proceedings resumed, Shami induces a play-and-miss before suckering Williams into flashing at a wide length ball. But Williams cannot middle it and it’s straight to Bhuvneshwar at deep third man! Zimbabwe are reeling, having lost 3 in the powerplay.

3.46PM Over 5 Zimbabwe 21-2 (Ervine 11*, Williams 5*)
Bhuvneshwar resumes for his standard third in the powerplay, conceding a single to Williams through a dab to third man before masterfully beating Ervine’s bat twice with some outswing. But Ervine is punishing anything on the pads, dispatching a rare overpitched Bhuvneshwar delivery, past the mid-off fielder for four! The Chevrons captain then picks up three with a nice shuffle towards the square leg gap as Shami is slow to get to the ball. But Bhuvneshwar rounds up the over by beating Williams’ bat for another dot.

3.42PM Over 4 Zimbabwe 13-2 (Williams 4*, Ervine 4*) – Zimbabwe attempt slow rebuild as India’s new ball bowlers put the squeeze on
Arshdeep continues to swing it both ways and limit Williams’ scoring options, causing him to seek a very risky single that he’s lucky to complete as Rohit missed a direct hit. Having been starved of the strike so far, Ervine reacts excellently to Arshdeep’s in swinger on the pads, simply flicking it away along the ground to deep midwicket for four. Arshdeep goes full again, this time holding his line and beating the bat, almost a test match length.

3.37PM Over 3 Zimbabwe 7-2 (Williams 3*, Ervine 0*)
Bhuvneshwar returns for his second over, targeting Williams’ edge from around the wicket. His third delivery is a beauty, holding its line outside off stump and drawing a prod-and-miss from Williams. But Williams has perhaps the best technique amongst the Zimbabwean batters in this lineup, and uses good footwork to pick up a couple before retaining the strike. All in all, another excellent Bhuvneshwar over putting the required run rate past 10.50 already.

3.30PM Over 1.4 Zimbabwe 2-2 (Ervine 0*) – OUT! Arshdeep finds subtle movement to dismiss struggling Chakabva
The young left-armer Arshdeep is sharing new ball duties with Bhuvneshwar and is extracting some swing of his own, finding the right amount of away movement to cause Ervine to play and miss. He follows this up with an in-ducker, as the white ball lands on the seam to deviate inwards and hit Ervine on the thigh. Although he strays too far wide allowing the batsmen to run byes off a wide, he pitches it fuller and it swings in just enough to beat the bat, and dislodge Chakabva’s off stump with a deflection off his pads! Regis Chakabva’s horror tournament with the bat is finally over, and Arshdeep has his first!

3.26PM Over 1 Zimbabwe 0-1 (Ervine 0*, Chakabva 0*) – Bhuvneshwar pegs Zimbabwe back with wicket maiden
Bhuvneshwar is making the most of the conditions offered by the ‘G once again. This time it’s an inswinger, Regis Chakabva plays all around it and is rapped on the pads. India’s LBW appeal is turned down and Rohit opts for the review, but the ball swung too much down the leg side and would have gone on to miss the stumps so India lose their review. Bhuvneshwar remains on the money though, and Ngarava’s maiden from the start of the game is now bettered by a Bhuvneshwar wicket maiden.

3.21PM Over 0.1 India 0-1 (Ervine 0*) – Bhuvneshwar, Virat get India off to perfect start
What a way to set the tone and peg the chase back before it begins! Bhuvneshwar Kumar delivers a full and wide delivery but the outswing means that Wessly Madhevere cannot middle the ball or keep his shot on ground. Kohli is perfectly placed at short cover and takes a well judged catch diving forward. Madhevere has to walk back for a golden duck

3.15PM Suryakumar continues his unparalleled 2022 in T20Is with another powerful knock
The Dutch have to be delighted seeing this Suryakumar onslaught, as India have put themselves well in the drivers’ seat to secure first place in their Super 12 group, set up a semifinal with England and done enough to keep the Dutch in the direct qualification places for 2024. Barring some awful fielding and some strayed lengths from the pacers, Zimbabwe will feel hard done by given their strong efforts. But they have only won once while chasing this tournament, and that was a relatively paltry target of 130-odd against Scotland in Hobart. Their batting has largely looked inconsistent and brittle, so they are going to have to put in their best performance of the tournament to chase down 187 and qualify directly for the next Men’s T20 World Cup.

3.09PM Over 20 India 186-5 (Suryakumar 61*, Axar 0*) – Ngarava removes Hardik but SKY plunders him to take India to 186
Ngarava’s final over starts off horribly with an above waist high no ball that misses the pitch entirely, but he’s briefly shown his teammates how to close it out at the death. The free hit is academic as Ngarava delivers a nailed on accurate yorker that smashes the stumps for a dot. Ngarava follows this up with an accurate wider yorker, which Hardik can only edge to Muzarabani at short third man, who takes it well as the ball was travelling quickly. But ultimately, this is the Suryakumar Yadav Show, as he regains strike off a wide bye and races to a 23-ball 50 with another indescribable shot over backward square leg, followed by a double. SKY continues plundering Ngarava’s now erred lengths with a four and a six, the latter behind the wicket as SKY beautifully uses the pace. If only Tony Greig were around to describe this occasion, as this has to be India’s T20 equivalent of that Sachin Tendulkar ‘Desert Storm’ knock in 1998. India reach 186 and it’s going to be a steep chase for Zimbabwe.

3.02PM Over 19 India 165-4 (Suryakumar 43*, Hardik 18*)
Given Muzarabani’s off day so far, India needed to make the most of this penultimate over and Hardik and SKY do so with aplomb. Hardik opens the over with a masterful slap of Muzarabani’s well-directed bouncer for four, while SKY drills a slower ball down the ground for another boundary. 13 runs off the pentultimate over as India’s bid for 180 is still on.

2.55PM Over 18 India 152-4 (Suryakumar 37*, Hardik 11*) – SKY powers India’s bid to bat Zimbabwe out of the game
We’re running out of descriptives for SKY here, because there is simply no other batsman in this Indian side who has been able to show his array of scoring options, his level of aggressive intent and his standard of execution. In his final over, Chatara tries an offcutter of his own, which SKY calmly scoops well over short fine leg’s head for four although Ngarava gave chase. Chatara bowls well for the most part but the final ball is in the slot, deserves the treatment and SKY slashes him over extra cover for six!

2.50PM Over 17 India 137-4 (Suryakumar 24*, Hardik 9*) – SKY superlatively manipulates fields again
Whatever bug that afflicted Muzarabani last over seemed to have reached Ngarava as his first ball back is an awful wide full toss that SKY simply guides over short third man’s head for four. Ngarava’s second is that perfectly executed wide yorker. But SKY has now found his signature field manipulations once again, going down on one knee and picking up another failed wide yorker with a sweep-scoop hybrid six that only SKY can pull off! Another productive over for India

2.46pm Over 16 India 125-4 (Suryakumar 14*, Hardik 8*) – SKY, Hardik rebuild with 18-run Muzarabani over
When you’re having a top class tournament, you find unexplainable ways to make your own luck. That is exactly what Suryakumar Yadav has done to this Blessing Muzarabani leg cutter, as he manages to top edge behind the keeper’s head with one hand off his bat for four! He then makes it two consecutive boundaries by driving a fuller ball left of long-off for another four. And then Hardik joins in on the fun, as two ordinary deliveries, a full toss on the pads and a length ball down leg side are perfectly deflected to fine leg for two more boundaries. A once solid spell for Zimbabwe’s premier pacer turns disastrous as India charge ahead!

2.40PM Over 15 India 107-4 (Suryakumar 5*, Hardik 3*)
All the hard work done by India’s top order looks to have been undone, thanks to the evergreen 36-year-olds Raza and Williams, with a little help from Ryan Burl. SKY and Hardik have to rebuild from the ground up and can’t yet find the boundary in this quiet quick over from Wellington Masakadza. Ervine is shuffling through his bowlers brilliantly here.

2.37PM Over 14 India 103-4 (Suryakumar 4*, Hardik 1*) OUT! Pant falls early to Burl’s stunning diving catch
Oh my goodness, what a stunning catch from Ryan Burl! Just as the commentators Harsha Bhogle and Carlos Brathwaite are critiquing Burl for his unconventional catching technique, the Zimbabwean has picked this up out of nowhere! It was one of Rishabh Pant’s typical agricultural slog-sweep shots as he looked to get his tournament running by finding the boundary gap. But Burl has run all the way from long on to take a brilliant diving catch in front of the boundary. It isn’t quite on the level of Glenn Phillips at the SCG or Roelof van der Merwe at Adelaide but it’s a close competitor, given the amount of ground Burl had to cover. Williams bags a brace and Pant has to go cheaply!

2.28PM Over 12.2 India 93-3 (Suryakumar 0*) – OUT! Rahul holes out immediately after reaching fifty
What a way to continue your return to form, as Rahul sends Raza’s full slow delivery straight down the ground for a magnificent six for his second consecutive half-century of the tournament! But Raza has set him up here and induces the same shot by delivering a similar delivery at reduced speed. Rahul doesn’t time this at all and Ryan Burl safely takes the catch at the long-off boundary!

2.25PM Over 12 India 87-2 (Rahul 45*) OUT! Kohli’s spin struggles come to the fore with Williams wicket
Ervine rolls the dice for the seventh time, as the veteran left-arm spinner Sean Williams is entrusted to build on the scoreboard pressure provided by Raza. The veteran is bowling excellently to his field, following the batsman when he moves. An under-pressure Kohli mistimes a skier in trying to break the shackles but can only find Ryan Burl at long off! Williams has thoroughly outfoxed one of the T20 greats here, massive wicket for the Chevrons!

2.22PM Over 11 India 85-1 (Rahul 44*, Kohli 25*)
Raza resumes his spell and continues to keep it tight, wicket to wicket. Rahul and Kohli don’t read his variations well enough to get any elevation or timing to find the boundary but comfortably play his over out at a run a ball.

India are starting to switch gears against Zimbabwe | Twitter /@ICC

2.16PM Over 10 India 79-1 (Rahul 41*, Kohli 22*) – India reach 79 off the first 10 overs
Chatara comes back on in an attempted enforcer role, given that the spinners had failed to really trouble this batting pair. But after picking some singles off his slower balls, Rahul plays an excellent pull shot against Chatara’s drag down and bisects two of the leg side fielders in the deep for four! The plan hasn’t yielded a second wicket but a dot off the last means India are still scoring at less than 8 runs an over on a batting friendly track. Expect more acceleration from the two after the drinks break as India should look to target 180.

2.11PM Over 9 India 71-1 (Rahul 35*, Kohli 20*)
Ervine brings on his star allrounder Sikandar Raza for his Sunil Narine-inspired mystery off spin and it’s done well to slow down the scoring. Raza brings out all his box of tricks and Ervine shows the rest of his fielders some lessons to ensure that India only get three off the over.

2.08PM Over 8 India 68-1 (Rahul 34*, Kohli 18*) – Rahul accelerates effectively against wrist spinner Burl
Now it’s time for the Chevrons’ trump card wrist spinner Ryan Burl, who had run through the Australian batting lineup in an ODI at Townsville in August this year. Burl is providing some flight in search of wickets, but after knocking it around, Rahul smacks him to the relatively shorter long-on boundary for a flat six! A fuller delivery from Burl creates a half-chance in the air towards deep midwicket but Masakadza was 11 metres in to stop the two, so the ball runs away from him for four on the bounce! A decent over turns into 14 gone as India are switching gears at last.

2.04PM Over 7 India 54-1 (Rahul 21*, Kohli 17*)
Wellington Masakadza comes on for his first game this tournament and is met with a decent shot from Kohli towards deep midwicket, but that is some horrendous fielding! An inexcusable attempt at a dive gifts India another boundary, which is followed up by a two and then a single off Kohli’s bat towards deep midwicket. Masakadza hasn’t done much wrong but has been let down massively by his fielders this over.

1.59PM Over 6 India 46-1 (Rahul 20*, Kohli 10*) – India score 46 in steady powerplay after losing captain Rohit
Breakthrough boy Blessing returns to round out the powerplay, but yet again it’s far too short and wide, just giving KL Rahul obvious opportunities to relieve scoreboard pressure and find the boundary. Muzarabani’s follow-up is better but Rahul steps out of his crease to guide it to third man. A fuller ball on sixth stump brings out the classic Kohli cover drive, for which India get a three, as the ball slows up towards the long 85 metre boundary. An expensive over but Zimbabwe will be happy to have gotten a breakthrough and kept India to under 50.

1.55PM Over 5 36-1 (Rahul 14*, Kohli 6*)
Chatara to send down his second over and it’s just as well-controlled as his first, because he largely sticks to the length balls outside off stump before changing it up with a full delivery in search of swing. Rahul and Kohli can’t find the gaps so it’s a welcome quiet over for the Chevrons.

A positive start for India despite losing Rohit Sharma in the Powerplay | Twitter /@ICC

1.50PM Over 4 India 31-1 (Rahul 11*, Kohli 4*) OUT! Muzarabani removes Rohit with signature short ball
The Chevrons’ tallest player Blessing Muzarabani is the first change, and looks to extract additional bounce compared to his teammates. He begins by consistently bowling far too wide, providing Rohit some easy twos as well as a freebie short and wide delivery that Rohit dispatches for four. But his penultimate ball is a far more well-directed short one that suckers the captain into hitting it in the air straight to Wellington Masakadza at deep square leg! Rohit has to go, while India continue the positive intent, as Virat Kohli tucks away a ball on his legs to the fine leg boundary for four.

1.44PM Over 3 India 18-0 (Rahul 11*, Rohit 7*) – India get going amid poor Zimbabwe fielding
Ngarava on for his second over and could have easily gotten his side the breakthrough as Rahul’s unconvincing hack across the line is just out of the reach of the fielder at square leg, providing India a fortunate three runs. Rohit also goes across the line and mistimes it onto the ground for a dot. But Rahul finally gets going on Ngarava’s fourth ball, picking up Ngarava’s attempted full inswinger over midwicket for six! Ngarava’s fifth ball is much better, but a lackadaisical misfield gifts India a single. The leg side fielder does poorly on the final ball too, allowing Rohit to keep the strike for the next over

1.39PM Over 2 India 6-0 (Rahul 1*, Rohit 5*) – Captain Rohit Sharma gets India off the mark
One of two right-arm seamers playing today, Chatara is on now and is asking similar questions of the captain, Rohit Sharma. While his first three balls were just outside off the stump in the corridor of uncertainty, his fourth ball is too straight, allowing Rohit to tuck it away on the leg side and get off the mark. Rahul turns the strike over to a more back of length delivery, and Chatara’s final ball is way overpitched. Rohit effortlessly hits him over the top down the ground for India’s first boundary.

1.34PM Over 1 India 0-0 (Rahul 0*, Rohit 0*) – Ngarava probes Rahul’s outside edge with maiden
Left-arm pacer Richard Ngarava will kick things off for Zimbabwe and just like Wayne Parnell did at Perth, he has beaten KL Rahul with some beautiful accurate lines and lengths. There’s some movement in this MCG wicket and Ngarava will consider himself unlucky to have not already dismissed the under-fire Indian opener.
