London, Jul 10 (PTI) Opening batter Smriti Mandhana and captain Harmanpreet Kaur struck half-centuries to take India to 202 for 5 at tea on the opening day of the one-off women’s Test against England here on Friday.
India scored at a brisk pace in the morning session but slowed down after lunch. They added just 80 runs in the second session in 26.2 overs, losing two wickets in the process, after they were 122 for 3 in 25 overs at lunch.
Mandhana was 56 not out at lunch and she added 27 runs in the second session before getting out for 83 off 108 balls. She hit 11 fours and one six during her knock.
Harmanpreet could not survive till tea which was called at the fall of her wicket. She made 58 off 121 balls and struck seven boundaries.
