Himalayan glaciers are melting at double the rate than expected

Spy satellite data of Cold-war era has revealed that the rate of melting of Himalayan glaciers and ice between 2000 and 2016 has doubled since 1970s and 80s. Using images from the US spy satellite KH-9 Hexagon, researchers investigated changes in 650 large glaciers throughout the Himalayas. Read more on this on Scientific American.
