New Delhi: Narendra Modi has been on top of the headlines since he became prime minister. As he completes 50 months in power, ThePrint takes a look at Google Trends for the biggest news-making search terms related to his government — from 16 May, 2014 to 5 August, 2018.

A recurring spike in the graph shows that search terms such as Supreme Court collegium and Ujjwala Yojana have seen steady interest over the given time period. If a term reaches a high mark but doesn’t show any more peaks, it means the interest of people in that particular term didn’t sustain.

For instance, action-based events such as Rahul Gandhi’s hug, Modi’s meeting with Donald Trump, his visit to Lahore, and mob lynchings were big news, but they didn’t sustain the interest of people for long.

Factors related to governance and policy, however, showed steady interest. Aadhaar, NITI Aayog and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan were the terms where the average search interest was the highest.
