In today’s featured cartoon, Satish Acharya takes a dig at the Modi government’s Data Protection Bill. Detractors argue that the Bill, which cleared Lok Sabha Monday, would grant “unchecked powers” to the central government by way of exemptions as well as the ability to block content.

Sajith Kumar’s cartoon talks about the Supreme Court’s stay on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s conviction in a criminal defamation case which had resulted in his expulsion from Lok Sabha four months ago. The top court’s decision meant Gandhi’s membership would be restored.

Alok | Twitter/@caricatured

Alok Nirantar’s cartoon is a satirical take on Nationalist Congress Party leader Ajit Pawar’s recent decision to join Maharashtra’s Sena-BJP government, and how he may have missed the chief minister’s chair by joining late.

Manjul | ET Prime

Cartoonist Manjul plays on the word “developed” as his protagonist points to cracked houses in Himachal Pradesh as a result of back-to-back construction projects, allegedly in the name of development.
