R. Wellesley’s younger brother Arthur — the future Duke of Wellington who would go on to defeat Napoleon at Waterloo — was one of the British commanders involved in Tipu’s final defeat at Seringapatam.

Nala Ponnappa alludes to US President Joe Biden sounding the alarm last week over Russian President Vladimir Putin’s remarks involving nuclear weapons. The reference is to a purported remark by Albert Einstein after World War 2: “I know not with what weapons World War 3 will be fought, but World War 4 will be fought with sticks and stones.”
