Amaravati, Jul 10 (PTI) YSRCP MLC Lella Appi Reddy on Friday appealed to the EC to launch a statewide independent inquiry into alleged “political interference” and the uploading of voter information into the MyTDP App, as part of the ongoing SIR of the electoral roll in Andhra Pradesh.
Accompanied by party leaders, Appi Reddy submitted representations to state Chief Electoral Officer Vivek Yadav, seeking urgent intervention into alleged ‘serious irregularities’ surrounding the ongoing SIR process.
“The party (YSRCP) demanded a statewide independent inquiry into political interference, unauthorised handling of official Enumeration Forms by private persons, uploading of voter information into the MyTDP App, and intimidation of Booth Level Officers,” a YSRCP press release claimed.
The YSRCP leaders cited alleged incidents from Nellore, Atmakur, Repalle and Thamballapalle as “evidence of a systematic pattern”.
In the Thamballapalle incident, YSRCP leaders claimed an audio recording had captured a former TDP legislator’s personal assistant “pressuring” a BLO to hand over completed enumeration forms for uploading into the MyTDP App.
They alleged that other BLOs across the constituency were already providing the forms, it added.
“YSRCP sought an immediate inquiry, protection for BLOs and strict prohibition on handing over official election records to political functionaries,” it said.
The opposition party also sought priority verification of approximately 36,388 alleged “duplicate and multiple voter entries” in Kuppam Assembly Constituency, along with a statewide technology-assisted and field-verified audit, while ensuring no genuine voter is deleted without notice and due process.
There was no immediate reaction from the TDP. PTI STH SSK
