Siddharthnagar (UP), Aug 9 (PTI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath asserted on Sunday that the youth of the nation have effectively “buried” the Congress party, and emphasised that the downfall of Congress serves as a clear example of the dangers of power intoxication.
“One need only look at the downfall of the Congress party to understand how dangerous the intoxication of power can be. They forgot the revolutionaries, and today, the youth of the country have buried the Congress,” Adityanath said.
The chief minister made these remarks while inaugurating and laying the foundation stone for 107 development projects valued at over Rs 311 crore in Siddharthnagar.
Coming down heavily on the Congress, Adityanath said, “Congress is moving on fully negative tracks. Why did India become a slave? There are two reasons: first, the contradictions among people, including humiliation based on caste, region, and language, which has led to the division of society. Second, there was a conspiracy by some within our own system. Those responsible for guiding the country misled society during that time.” He claimed that the very sin of dividing society, which contributed to India becoming a slave, is the same mistake that Congress and the Samajwadi Party are repeating today by creating divisions along caste lines.
“What is the result of their divisive politics? Has anyone ever asked them, considering that Congress has ruled the country and the state for the longest period, what they have done for the youth, farmers, the poor, and women during their tenure?” Adityanath questioned.
Adityanath stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, India has witnessed a transformation over the past 12 years.
“There was a time when the world viewed India as a backward, poor, and weak nation, one that would not be able to withstand its adversaries. Today, that same India stands tall before its opponents, and the entire world is looking towards it,” he said.
Crediting Modi for transforming the very India whose economy was once “devastated by Congress into the world’s fourth-largest economy”, Adityanath said that India, previously characterised by corruption and policy paralysis, has now emerged as a thriving startup ecosystem for its youth.
Posing a question to Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav, the chief minister asked, “The Congress had the opportunity to govern Uttar Pradesh for a long time, and the SP has had its chief minister four times. Yet, what exactly did they do to win the support of the youth?” Accusing the Congress of creating an identity crisis for the nation’s youth, while the SP did the same for the youth of the state, Adityanath said, “When the country faces corruption, terrorism, Naxalism, extremism, and riots, and the state suffers from riots, lawlessness, and there is an environment hostile to business and investment, it is natural that the youth are the ones who are affected the most.” PTI NAV MPL MPL
