Meerut (UP), Jun 3 (PTI) A 25-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly uploading a video on social media that could hurt religious sentiments and disturb communal harmony, police said on Wednesday.
The video circulated on social media on June 2 showed a youth carrying a knife while moving around in public. The video’s tagline and audio allegedly contained objectionable and provocative remarks, police said.
Taking serious note of the matter, the Brahmpuri police station launched a probe, during which the youth seen in the video was identified as Aman (25), a resident of Hari Nagar locality, sources said.
A case was registered against the accused under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and he was arrested on Tuesday night near Bhoomiya Pul, they said.
