Itanagar, Jun 5 (PTI) Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Friday called for renewed commitment towards protecting natural resources, stressing that a clean and healthy environment is the foundation of a prosperous future.

In a message on the occasion of World Environment Day, Khandu urged people to work together to preserve nature and promote sustainable development.

“Let us renew our commitment to protecting our forests, rivers, wildlife, and natural resources. A clean and healthy environment is the foundation of a prosperous future for generations to come,” the CM said in a social media post.

“Let us work together to preserve nature and build a greener, more sustainable world,” he said, extending greetings to people on the occasion.

Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein also underscored the importance of protecting the environment, describing nature as humanity’s “greatest inheritance and shared responsibility”.

“On World Environment Day, let us reaffirm our commitment to protecting the environment that sustains us,” Mein said in a post on X.

He said the state’s vast forests, pristine rivers and extraordinary biodiversity serve as a constant reminder that nature is not only a heritage to be cherished, but also a responsibility to be protected.
