Shimla, Jun 9 (PTI) Around 320 women from Shimla participated in ‘Maha Nati’, a traditional Himachali folk dance, at the Mall Road during the ongoing International Shimla Summer Festival-2026, officials said on Tuesday.

The women enthralled the audience with their performance, with several spectators also joining them as they danced to popular Himachali songs.

The participants also conveyed a message against drug abuse during the event.

Deputy Commissioner Shimla Anupam Kashyap said ‘Nati’ remains a major highlight of the summer festival. He said this year’s event was organised under the theme ‘Maa Ka Sankalp–Samaj Ka Sankalp’, focusing on creating awareness against drug abuse.

Kashyap said the performance also highlighted issues related to atrocities and crimes against women. He added that the participants were administered an oath to help eradicate the drug menace from society. PTI COR APL APL
