Jabalpur, Aug 14 (PTI) A 20-year-old woman working at a bar in Jabalpur district was stabbed to death allegedly by her male colleague following an argument at the workplace on Friday, police said.
The incident occurred at ‘Mahfil Bar’ near Deendayal Chowk under Gohalpur police station limits and the deceased was identified as Muskan Chaudhary, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Ayush Jakhar told reporters.
The accused, identified as Pawan Verma, worked as a cook at the pub and was later nabbed, he said.
The two had an argument over some issue at around 4.30 pm, following which their other colleagues intervened and pacified them, the ASP said.
However, the two later got into an argument again. During the heated exchange of words, Verma launched into a rage and allegedly stabbed Chaudhary multiple times with a knife, leaving her seriously injured, As the woman collapsed, her colleagues rushed her to a hospital, where doctors declared her dead after an initial examination, police said.
The accused fled the spot after the incident, but police later took him into custody.
Police sent the body for post-mortem examination after completing the inquest proceedings and registered a murder case against Verma. PTI COR LAL RSY
