Nagpur, Jul 28 (PTI) A woman was killed and a landlord couple was seriously injured after a former tenant allegedly attacked them with a sword and knife in Amarnagar area here on Tuesday, police said.
The accused, Roshan Neelkanth Taral (30), had a dispute with landlord Dharmpal Dahat over vacating a rented room, said an official of MIDC police station.
Taral held a grudge against Dahat after he was asked to vacate the room following complaints about his behaviour.
On Tuesday, he entered the house around 9.40 am, and allegedly attacked Dharmpal and injured his hand. When his wife Vanita tried to intervene, she was also attacked. Sangeeta Chaudhary, who was present at the house, tried to stop the accused and suffered a fatal injury, police said.
Sangeeta died on the spot, while Dharmpal and Vanita were admitted to a hospital.
“After the attack, the accused locked himself inside the house. Our team reached the spot, broke open the door and arrested him,” the police official said. Further investigation is underway. PTI COR KRK
