Palghar (Maharashtra), Jul 2 (PTI) A 47-year-old woman was killed in a wall collapse incident in the district on Thursday, an official said.
The incident took place at Agripada village when the victim was trying to stop rainwater from flooding her home, said Vivekanand Kadam, chief of the Palghar District Disaster Management Cell.
The deceased was identified as Rubiya Shabir Sayyad.
A part of the lean-to ‘padvi’ or veranda of her house had collapsed earlier, the official said.
“While she was clearing the rubble, the remaining part of the fragile veranda wall caved in,” said Kadam.
