Faridabad, May 6 (PTI) A 40-year-old woman allegedly died by suicide by jumping from the fourth floor of SRS Residency Society in Sector 88 here on Wednesday, police said.
According to the police, the deceased, Richa Taneja Goyal, lived with her husband and twin sons in a fourth-floor flat, they said.
She had been working in the private sector but left her job three years ago due to health reasons. Her husband, Rahul Goyal, who worked as a manager with Adani Gas Company, had also reportedly left his job recently.
On Wednesday, Richa was at home with her 12-year-old sons while her husband had gone to Agra to drop off his sister. At around 10 am, she allegedly took the elevator to the fourth floor and jumped shortly after, dying on the spot, the police said.
Police reached the spot upon receiving information and sent the body for a post-mortem, a senior officer said.
Preliminary investigation suggests the woman may have taken the step following a domestic dispute, the officer said “The family has been informed. The exact cause behind the incident is not yet clear, and we are speaking with family members,” the police said. PTI COR APL
