Woman dies after administered injection by medical store operator in UP’s Ballia

Ballia (UP), Jun 12 (PTI) A 48-year-old woman died allegedly after being administered an injection by a medical store operator here, police said on Friday.

A case has been registered against the operator of Bharat Medical Store under Section 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita based on a complaint filed by a relative of the deceased, they said.

According to the complaint, the woman, identified as Subhawati Devi, a resident of Chandpur Nai Basti village under Sahtwar police station limits, had gone to the medical store in Bachhaipur Hasanpur village on Thursday afternoon.

The medical store operator, Anil Yadav, allegedly gave her medicines and administered an injection. Soon after, her condition deteriorated; her pulse weakened, and she developed breathing problems before she died, the complaint stated.

Police reached the spot after receiving the information and sent the body for post-mortem, Nagar police station in-charge Sanjay Mishra said.
