Sitamarhi, Oct 3 (PTI) Three people, including a woman, died and another person was injured after they came in contact with an electrified wire fence in an agricultural field in Bihar’s Sitamarhi district, police said on Saturday.
The incident took place in Takiya Tola under the Chakwa panchayat of the Bairgania block, a senior officer said.
Bairgania Police Station SHO Arvind Kumar Giri said the four people had gone to a field for agricultural work when they came in contact with an electrified barbed wire fence, erected on an adjacent farmland to prevent incursion of animals.
“Three persons – Robaida Khatun, Salam Mansuri and Hasmat Ali -died on the spot. Khatun and Mansuri are a couple. Saif Ali, a local person, suffered burn injuries and is undergoing treatment at a hospital,” the station house officer said.
The three bodies have been sent for post-mortem examinations, he added. PTI CORR SUK BDC
