Jaipur, Jul 23 (PTI) Heavy to very heavy rains lashed several parts of Rajasthan, while Jagpura in Banswara district recorded the highest rainfall of 17 cm during the 24-hour period ending Thursday morning, the Met department said.
Most places in eastern Rajasthan received moderate to heavy rainfall while some places witnessed very heavy showers, it said.
Several areas in western Rajasthan also recorded moderate to heavy rainfall.
Asind in Bhilwara recorded 16 cm of rainfall, Jawaja in Ajmer 12 cm, Sadulshahar in Sri Ganganagar 11 cm, Dhariyawad in Pratapgarh 10 cm, while Aklera in Jhalawar and Hanumangarh received 8 cm each. Nithua in Dungarpur recorded 6 cm of rainfall.
Rajsamand, Baran, Jodhpur, Pali, Bundi and Sirohi districts also received rainfall ranging from 1 cm to 5 cm during the 24-hour period, the department said.
Monsoon activity is likely to remain active across most parts of the state over the next four to five days, according to the weather office, which also forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places in southern and southeastern Rajasthan during the period.
Moderate to heavy rainfall, with isolated spells of very heavy rain, is likely in Ajmer, Kota, Jodhpur and Udaipur divisions between July 23 and 25. Light to moderate rainfall is also expected at some places in Jaipur, Bharatpur and Bikaner divisions, the department said. PTI SDA PRK
