New Delhi, Jun 25 (PTI) The need for a comprehensive cyber security framework for the national capital amid a rapidly evolving cyber threat landscape was discussed at a state-level workshop on Thursday.

There was consensus on the need for sustained collaboration, regular capacity-building initiatives and adoption of emerging technologies and best practices to strengthen Delhi’s cyber security ecosystem.

The recommendations emerging from the workshop will contribute to the formulation and implementation of a comprehensive cyber security framework for the national capital, said a statement from the Delhi government’s IT department.

The consultative workshop was organised by the government’s Information Technology department, in collaboration with the National e-Governance Division (NeGD), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), at the Delhi Secretariat.

Delhi IT minister Pankaj Singh emphasised the growing importance of cyber security in protecting government data, digital infrastructure and citizen services amid the rapidly evolving cyber threat landscape.

“In today’s digital era, securing government data is not merely a technological responsibility but a commitment towards every citizen. We are continuously strengthening our cyber security architecture to safeguard government data and public digital services,” said the minister.

He noted that with increasing digitalisation, cyber criminals are employing increasingly sophisticated methods that transcend geographical boundaries, making it imperative for governments to remain vigilant and continuously strengthen cyber security mechanisms.

The workshop featured expert sessions covering cyber threat intelligence, protection of critical information infrastructure, incident response mechanisms, data privacy, emerging technologies and global best practices in cyber risk management. PTI VIT VIT MPL MPL
