Thiruvananthapuram, Jul 18 (PTI) The Kerala State Election Commission (SEC) on Saturday said that it will be updating the voter list in 38 local body wards of Kerala where by-elections are scheduled to be held due to disqualification, resignation or death of the elected members.

State Election Commissioner N Seshadrinathan said that the draft voter list will be published on July 21 and the final list on August 19.

Those whose names are not included in the draft list can apply from July 21 to August 5, the commission said in a statement.

Those who have completed 18 years of age on or before January 1, 2026, can also add their names to the voters’ list by applying online through the website www.sec.kerala.gov.in.

Applications for amendments to the content of the list and for changes in the constituency/ward can also be submitted online, the statement said.

However, for exclusion of names, a printout of the applications registered online should be given to the Electoral Registration Officer in person or by post, it said.

The draft list will be published in the respective local bodies, taluk offices, village offices and on the website sec.kerala.gov.in, it added.

The bypolls will be held in 38 wards spread across all but Kollam and Alappuzha districts.

The vacancies have been reported in the corporation wards of Ernakulam and Kozhikode, the three municipality wards of Thrissur, Palakkad and Kannur, three district panchayat wards of Thiruvananthapuram, Kottayam and Palakkad, seven block panchayat wards and 23 gram panchayat wards, the statement said.
