Ayodhya, Aug 6 (PTI) The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust on Thursday dismissed reports that VIP darshan had been discontinued at the Ram temple, asserting that all arrangements for devotees remain unchanged.
Speaking to reporters, the trust’s interim general secretary Krishna Mohan said the system for darshan at the temple was continuing as before and denied reports suggesting that VIP darshan had been banned.
When asked about the allegations made by former temple accountant Mahipal Singh regarding the cost of the Ram temple project, Krishna Mohan declined to comment. Singh has alleged that the estimated expenditure on the temple’s construction was inflated from around Rs 800 crore to Rs 2,100 crore.
Responding to questions on allegations relating to expenditure during the consecration ceremony, Krishna Mohan said those responsible for handling the expenses should be asked about them, without naming any individual.
The remarks come amid an ongoing controversy surrounding the trust’s financial management after Mahipal Singh levelled allegations of financial irregularities and questioned the escalation in the project’s estimated cost.
