Veteran journalist Vijay Sanghvi passes away at 87

New Delhi, Jul 17 (PTI) Veteran journalist and political commentator Vijay Sanghvi passed away here on Friday evening, his family said. He was 87.

In a career spanning more than six decades starting in the ’60s, Sanghvi served as the chief of bureau at ‘Sandesh’, besides working with ‘Gujarat Mitra’, ‘Gujarat Samachar’, and ‘Midday Mumbai’.

He also wrote for several national dailies, including Hindustan Times and The Times of India.

Someone who worked across Gujarati, Hindi, Marathi and English media platforms, Sanghvi was known for his insightful analysis, political commentary and deep understanding of Indian politics, governance and parliamentary affairs.

Sanghvi also authored several books, including ‘Faceless People’, ‘Indira to Sonia’ and ‘The Empress and the Democrats’.

He would be cremated at the Green Park electric crematorium on Saturday morning, family sources said. PTI SKC ARI
