Mumbai, Jun 5 (PTI) Venezuela’s Acting President Delcy Rodriguez arrived in Mumbai on Friday.
Rodriguez and her delegation were welcomed by Indian Ambassador to Venezuela P K Ashok Babu at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport.
Maharashtra’s Chief Protocol Secretary Rajesh Gawande, Abhinav Deshmukh, Additional Commissioner of Mumbai Police and Saurabh Katiyar, Collector, Mumbai Suburban were present to welcome Rodriguez.
Rodriguez began a five-day visit to India on Wednesday to bolster the overall bilateral cooperation against the backdrop of New Delhi seeking to diversify its crude oil procurement amid supply disruptions due to the West Asia crisis.
Rodriguez had held talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday focusing on ramping up economic ties including in critical minerals, pharmaceuticals, agriculture and automobiles. The two nations vowed to set up a long-term energy partnership. PTI PR BNM
