Gopeshwar (Uttarakhand), Aug 22 (PTI) The body of Border Roads Organisation (BRO) Head Constable Pankaj Rudhaula, who went missing 12 days ago in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district, was recovered on Saturday, police said.
They said Rudhaula went missing on August 10 after being swept away by heavy water and debris in the Tamak drain near Long Segdi village in the Jyotirmath tehsil area of the district due to heavy rains.
Rudhaula was posted as a driver in the 123 unit of the BRO.
According to police, Rudhaula’s body was recovered near Bhalagaon, on the banks of the Dhauliganga river, during an intensive search operation that has been ongoing since the incident.
Police, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), BRO, Army’s Garhwal Rifles, dog squads and drones were part of the intensive search, which was conducted in the Tamak drain and surrounding locations, as well as along the river bank. PTI DPT MNK AMJ AMJ
