Dehradun, Oct 20 (PTI) Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the Dussehra festival organised at Parade Ground here on Tuesday.

On this occasion, he extended his greetings and best wishes to the people of the state and prayed for everyone’s happiness, peace, prosperity, and well-being.

The chief minister said that the festival of Vijayadashami reminds us of the power of truth and the significance of righteousness.

“Dussehra is not merely about the burning of Ravan’s effigy; it is also an occasion for introspection and self-purification. We must resolve to eliminate the ego, anger, greed, and negative tendencies that reside within us. The participation of every individual in society is essential to eradicate social evils such as corruption, injustice, substance abuse and violence against women,” said Dhami.

He said that the state government is committed to maintaining peace, security, and law and order in Uttarakhand, while simultaneously safeguarding its cultural heritage, religious traditions and social harmony. PTI SPY MPL MNK

Nine Years, Made Possible by Readers

In 2017, Shekhar Gupta started ThePrint with a simple belief: Indian readers want journalism that asks why and what next, not just what. And that enough of them would be willing to pay for good journalism.

Nine years on, that belief has held.

And, in these nine years, we’ve stayed true to our mission. We’ve been asking the follow-up questions, going beyond the headlines and explaining what’s actually happening. We’ve travelled across the country to bring you in-depth, visually-compelling stories from the ground.

It’s been nine years of readers choosing to make this possible. If you’d like to be one of them:
