New Delhi, Jun 10 (PTI) US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor and Israeli envoy Reuven Azar on Wednesday congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on becoming India’s longest continuously serving elected prime minister.

In an X post, Gor said “this achievement” is a powerful testament to Modi’s decades of dedicated public service and leadership.

“Congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on becoming India’s longest-serving elected prime minister. This achievement is a powerful testament to his decades of dedicated public service and leadership! Wishing him all the best!” the US envoy wrote.

Modi first assumed office on May 26, 2014.

He completed an unbroken tenure of 4,399 days on Wednesday, surpassing the record of the first prime minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, who was in office for 4,398 days.

In his X post, Israeli envoy Reuven Azar said Modi has transformed the Indian economy through “multiple deep reforms”.

“Congratulations Shri @narendramodi for being the longest serving Prime Minister of Bharat! Like your friend PM @netanyahu, the longest serving Prime Minister of Israel, you have transformed the Indian economy through multiple deep reforms and set the country on the path of success!” Azar’s post read.

Several other world leaders too greeted Modi over his milestone. They praised his leadership and dedication to public service. PTI KND RUK RUK
