Thane, Apr 18 (PTI) The Bombay High Court has issued a stern directive to all judicial officers across Maharashtra and Goa, mandating the uploading of orders and judgments on the Case Information System (CIS) server on the day they are passed, officials said on Saturday.

In a circular aimed at ensuring transparency and efficiency, the high court warned that failure to comply with these timelines would be viewed as a serious lapse.

“All the Judicial Officers in the State of Maharashtra and Goa shall note that the orders and judgments passed by them are to be uploaded on CIS Server on the same day,” stated the order issued by HC’s Registrar General Swapnil C Khati.

The directive, which has been circulated to all judicial officers through the Principal District and Sessions Judges, emphasizes that if a judgment is not uploaded on the same day, the officer must furnish specific details and reasons for the delay.

“Not uploading the orders/judgments in time is misconduct touching the integrity of a judicial officer,” the order said.

To ensure strict monitoring, judicial officers are now required to submit a monthly certificate confirming the timely uploading of their orders. The administration has also introduced a zero-tolerance policy for misinformation.

“The judicial officers are being put to notice that if any discrepancy is found in the information supplied by them, they shall be placed under suspension dispensing with departmental enquiry,” the order added.

Additionally, the judicial officers have been directed not to retain any court files with them once a case has been disposed of.

The move is expected to streamline the judicial process and provide litigants with immediate access to court rulings, reducing the lag between the pronouncement and the official availability of legal documents. PTI COR NP
