UP: Two Amethi youth drown while bathing in wetland

Amethi (UP), May 13 (PTI) Two youths drowned while bathing in the Kadunala wetland in Uttar Pradesh’s Amethi, police said on Wednesday.

The deceased were identified as Nadeem (21) and Nanku (20), both residents of the Paschim Gaon hamlet of Daulatpur village, they said.

According to the police, the two had gone to bathe in the wetland under the Bhale Sultan Shaheed Smarak police station area on Tuesday.

Family members informed the police about the incident on Wednesday, following which a search operation was launched with the help of divers.

The bodies of both men were later recovered from the water body, the police added.
