Etah (UP), Apr 24 (PTI) A school van carrying children went out of control and overturned into a ditch on the Aliganj bypass here on Friday, resulting in minor injuries to more than half a dozen children, police said.
Locals and passersby immediately initiated relief operations, climbing down into the ditch to rescue the children and rushing them to nearby private hospitals for treatment.
According to the police, a team arrived at the scene upon receiving information about the incident; however, by that time, the van had already been removed from the spot.
The children, who had sustained only minor injuries, had also been taken away by their respective parents, they said.
Circle Officer of Aliganj Rajesh Kumar Singh said that efforts are underway to gather precise details regarding the incident.
Parents of the injured children have demanded an inspection of the vehicle’s fitness and the driver’s credentials, as well as strict action against those found responsible for the incident. PTI COR NAV APL APL
