Lucknow, Jul 22 (PTI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday greeted people of the state on the occasion of National Flag Day.

In a post on X in Hindi, Adityanath said, “Heartiest greetings on ‘National Flag Adoption Day’! From the peaks of the Himalayas to the waves of the Indian Ocean, from the valleys of Kashmir to the streams of Kanyakumari, the ‘Tricolour’ is a proud symbol of the soul, identity, integrity and unity of 140 crore Indians. We all are fully committed and determined to protect its honour. Jai Hind!” National Flag Day is celebrated on July 22 to commemorate the adoption of the Indian national flag in its current form. The Constituent Assembly officially adopted the Tricolour on this day in 1947, just weeks before India’s Independence from British rule. PTI NAV ARI
