Thane, Aug 3 (PTI) The body of an unidentified woman, believed to be aged between 55 and 60, was recovered from a lake in Thane city on Monday morning, officials said.

According to Yasin Tadvi, chief of the Regional Disaster Management Cell (RDMC) at the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC), emergency responders received information regarding a body floating in the Ambe-Ghosale Lake in the Rabodi area at around 9:25 am.

Personnel from the RDMC and the Thane Fire Brigade retrieved the body from the lake and handed it over to the Rabodi police, he said, adding the corpse was that of an unidentified woman.

Following preliminary site procedures, the body was sent to the Thane District Civil Hospital for a post-mortem examination to establish the exact cause of death, said Tadvi.
