Jalaun (UP), Jun 17 (PTI) Two persons were killed while three others sustained injuries after a car travelling on the Kanpur-Jhansi national highway went out of control, hit a divider and overturned here on Wednesday, police said.
According to Additional Superintendent of Police Ishaan Soni, the accident took place around 11 am on the Ajnari flyover under Urai police station area.
The car was travelling on the highway from the direction of Jhansi when it apparently went out of control, struck the divider and overturned, he said.
Two occupants of the vehicle, Akhilesh (45) and Brijraj (42), died on the spot. Both were originally from Azamgarh district and were residing in Dadra and Nagar Haveli, police said.
Three other occupants — Abhay, Anurag and Jeera Devi, wife of Akhilesh — sustained injuries in the accident. The injured were admitted to the Government Medical College in Urai, where they are undergoing treatment, police said.
