Gumla, Jul 28 (PTI) Two persons were killed and another was injured on Tuesday as their motorcycle fell off a bridge after hitting its railings in Jharkhand’s Gumla district, police said.

The accident occurred in an area under the Ghaghara Police Station limits when the motorcycle rider lost control of the two-wheeler and crashed into the railings of the Kharka Bridge before it fell, a senior officer said.

“All three were immediately taken to the Gumla Sadar Hospital, where doctors declared two of them dead,” Ghaghara Police Station officer-in-charge Mohan Kumar Singh said.

The deceased, identified as Mangra Oraon (25) and Charku Oraon (24), were residents of the Badkadih village in the same police station limits.

One of the pillion riders jumped before the motorcycle plunged to the ground, sustaining minor injuries, the officer said.

The injured person has been identified as Suraj Oraon.

The three were travelling on the motorcycle towards the Kharka area to buy fish, the officer said.

The bodies of the deceased will be handed over to their families after post-mortem examinations, he added. PTI RPS RPS BDC
