New Delhi, Sep 18 (PTI) Two people, including a minor, were apprehended in two separate cases in northeast Delhi for allegedly brandishing knives and an illegal firearm after videos surfaced on social media, police said on Friday.
In the first case, police traced and arrested Karan (19), a resident of Kabir Nagar, after a video of a young man waving a knife while dancing with others surfaced online, police said.
During an inquiry, police found that the video was uploaded from Karan’s social media account. He told police that on August 15, he and his friends were dancing to DJ music on the top floor of a friend’s flat to celebrate Independence Day when two other boys joined them and allegedly waved a knife.
Police subsequently gathered information from various sources and traced the person allegedly seen brandishing the dagger in the video.
A dagger and a button-actuated knife were recovered from his possession, police said. An FIR was registered.
In a separate case, police apprehended a 16-year-old boy on September 17 after a video of him brandishing an illegal firearm was uploaded.
