Jaipur, May 15 (PTI) Two Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel and a person they had detained died after a speeding trailer rammed into their motorcycle on the Ajmer-Bhilwara National Highway in Rajasthan’s Bhilwara district, police said on Friday.
The accident took place on the Mandal Chauraha overbridge when the motorcycle carrying GRP head constable Lekhraj, constable Ravindra and the detained person, identified as Chhotu Bhil, was hit from behind by the trailer, they said.
All three died on the spot due to the impact of the collision.
GRP Additional Superintendent of Police Naresh Kumar Sharma said that the police team had gone to Raila railway station after receiving information about a suspicious person being detained there.
“The accused was being brought from Raila to Bhilwara on a motorcycle when the accident occurred near the Mandal Chauraha overbridge,” Sharma said.
After receiving information about the incident, Government Railway Police and local police teams reached the spot and shifted the bodies to the mortuary of a local hospital.
Police have registered a case against the trailer driver and launched a search to trace him, the official said. PTI SDA NB NB
