Prayagraj, Oct 24 (PTI) A case has been registered against two former employees of Uttar Pradesh minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi for allegedly stealing data and important documents from his computer, police said on Saturday.

The FIR was registered at Kotwali police station here on Friday on a complaint by the minister’s media adviser Divyanshu Shekhar Singh, naming Gaurav Mishra, a resident of Kanpur, and Durgesh Kumar Singh, a resident of Prayagraj.

According to the complaint, Mishra worked as a video editor and graphic designer in the minister’s social media team and had access to his digital data, photographs, hard drives and YouTube account.

The complaint alleged that Mishra conspired with Singh, a former member of the social media team, to misuse these resources and steal data and important documents from the computer.

The two also allegedly forged the minister’s official letterhead, it said.

The case has been registered under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Information Technology Act, Kotwali police station inspector Durga Charan said. PTI RAJ CDN ARB

Nine Years, Made Possible by Readers

In 2017, Shekhar Gupta started ThePrint with a simple belief: Indian readers want journalism that asks why and what next, not just what. And that enough of them would be willing to pay for good journalism.

Nine years on, that belief has held.

And, in these nine years, we’ve stayed true to our mission. We’ve been asking the follow-up questions, going beyond the headlines and explaining what’s actually happening. We’ve travelled across the country to bring you in-depth, visually-compelling stories from the ground.

It’s been nine years of readers choosing to make this possible. If you’d like to be one of them:
