Gurugram, Jul 18 (PTI) Two persons, including an auto-rickshaw driver, were arrested in Gurugram for allegedly kidnapping their relative’s 5-year-old son, police said on Saturday.
The police took action after a man filed a complaint at Sector 29 police station that his son went missing on Friday evening while playing in front of his tea stall in Chakkarupur area, and added that he received a ransom call demanding Rs 1.5 lakh.
Police teams from Police Post Chakarpur and the Crime Branch launched a joint operation and arrested the two accused in Chakarpur.
The accused were identified as Hasanpur Jaman (19), resident of Gurugram’s Ulhawas village and Monuar ( 30), resident of Delhi’s Shaheen Bagh. Both belong to West Bengal’s Suti village. Police said that Hasanpur works as an auto driver while Monuar is unemployed.
“The accused are relatives of the child’s father and, driven by greed for money, conspired to kidnap the child and demand ransom. Our police team successfully rescued the kidnapped child safely from the accused’s custody. The auto-rickshaw used in committing the crime was also recovered from their possession. We are questioning the accused,” ACP (Crime) Naveen Sharma said. PTI COR KSI KSI
