Nashik, Jul 25 (PTI) Four tremors measuring up to 3.6 magnitude were recorded in Maharashtra’s Nashik district on Saturday, officials said.
The tremors were felt in the Borgaon area of Surgana taluka, they said. The region has also been battered by torrential downpours, recording a rainfall of 164.5 mm in 24 hours.
There have been no reports of injuries or property damage, officials said.
Four tremors, with magnitudes of up to 3.6, were felt in a span of about 50 minutes starting at 9.55 am, officials said.
The tehsildar of the area will conduct an inspection and submit a detailed report, said a senior official.
Meanwhile, the intensity of rains has eased in the district. While the discharge of water from Gangapur dam into Godavari river has decreased, it is continuing, said officials. However, the discharge of water from the Gautami-Godavari dam has increased owing to rains in the catchment areas, they said. PTI COR NR
