Chatra (Jharkhand), May 6 (PTI) Three people were killed in two separate road accidents in Jharkhand’s Chatra district on Wednesday, officials said.
The first incident took place in Tandwa police station area around 5.30 am when two persons were killed after a coal-laden truck hit their scooter.
The deceased were identified as Sashikant Mehta and Saurabh Kumar, both residents of Padma area in Hazaribag district. Both were aged between 24 and 25 years old, Tandwa Block Development Officer Devlal Oraon said.
Tandwa police station officer-in-charge Pappu Sharma said both victims died on the spot after the truck hit the two-wheeler, and the bodies were sent to a government hospital for post-mortem examination.
In another incident, a 23-year-old man died after being run over by a truck.
“The accident took place at Murainwas More when the victim, Vikash Kumar Yadav, was returning home on foot after attending a wedding ceremony,” Basisthnagar police station OC Amit Kumar said.
